Design really does matter, it matters to the individuals who carefully assemble and craft each piece. It matters to all of us. Design in the end is really about people. Our products are an extension of the people, the faces and the stories behind them.
Why We Care
Each Scraplight is meticulously handcrafted from recycled cardboard, primarily sourced from post-consumer waste. Using precision laser cutting and non-toxic adhesives for assembly, we create lighting fixtures that are both durable and environmentally friendly. For safety and longevity, all Scraplights are treated with a non-toxic fire retardant, making them suitable for a range of settings.
Social Responsibility
In addition to environmental considerations, we integrate social responsibility into our production process. In the Netherlands, for example, we work with a social enterprise to provide craft-based employment opportunities, particularly for individuals who face barriers to traditional employment. This partnership supports local communities and fosters a sense of purpose and dignity among workers.
