Former movie theatre

Light that connects history and modernity. In the heart of Berlin Mitte, a former movie theatre was transformed into A Space, a temporary showroom for Ziegert Immobilien, designed by Plajer & Franz Studio. The interior blends raw industrial character with refined materials, celebrating the building’s original brick structure while introducing contemporary design elements. To complement the atmosphere, a cluster of Graypants Scraplights was installed, their warm, layered glow accentuating the height and texture of the space. The handcrafted cardboard pendants bring softness to the raw industrial shell, creating a natural balance between past and present. The result is a space that feels both authentic and inspiring, a place where architecture, design, and light come together to tell a new story in an old setting.
